Plato once said, “Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything,” and to feel the music, let it sink in. From gloomy, romantic songs to soul-soothing blissful and energetic songs, music has changed enormously over the years. There is a presence of a great variety of songs, and you can always choose the one that suits your mood.

Top 10 Must Hear Songs Of All Time

Here, I’ve compiled the must hear songs of all time in a list, some of which make generation after generation tear up the dance floor. Let’s see them one by one.

Top 10 Must Hear Songs Of All Time:

Closer – The Chainsmokers

The first song from my list of must hear songs of all time is “Closer”, a track by American DJ duo The Chainsmokers. Halsey performed the iconic female vocals, and Andrew Taggart (one half of The Chainsmokers) also provides his vocals in the song.

“Closer” is the story of love that dissolved in the past. But now, years later, it has been resurrected as a result of a chance meeting. The song’s super catchy, and the lyrics are just vague enough that they can get stuck inside a person’s head and make him or her wonder exactly what’s happening between the lines.

The song came up to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 in no time. Just in four weeks, the song had over 150 million listens on Spotify and nearly the same amount of views on YouTube!

See You Again – Wiz Khalifa Ft. Charlie Puth

If you’re a massive fan of the Fast and Furious series, like me, then the next song on this list of must hear songs of all time is going to be one of your favorite tracks.

“See You Again” was recorded by American rapper Wiz Khalifa and it features American singer Charlie Puth showing off his impressing vocal range. The song was specially made for the soundtrack of the 2015 action film Furious 7 as a tribute to actor Paul Walker who died in a car accident on 30 November 2013 in Valencia, California.

Five years later, the song is still as popular as ever. See You Again became both Puth’s and Khalifa’s biggest single to date. It Wound up topping music charts all over the world and maintained its position in Billboard’s Top 100 for 12 non- consecutive weeks.

Shape of You – Ed Sheeran

The shape of You hit streaming services in 2017 and has become one of the most played songs in history. To date, it has more than two billion streams on Spotify alone – and that’s not counting other platforms and physical records. Listing this song amongst the must hear songs of all time would be an understatement.

It has an irresistible beat and rhythm that causes almost anyone to get up and dance. Originally, Sheeran wrote the song for Rihanna but decided it was more suited for him. After only a few beats, listeners are immediately caught in its catchy melody. Whether it’s your first listen or your 50th, we’re sure you’ll still be enjoying this song.

Blank Space – Taylor Swift

“Blank Space” is a Grammy Award-nominated song by the renowned American singer Taylor Swift. It was recorded by Swift for her fifth studio album 1989 (2014).

This song was written in response to the media’s perception of her as a serial dater who writes songs as a way to achieve some sort of “emotional revenge” on her former boyfriends.

Written by Swift, Shellback, and Max Martin, it has received seven awards from 17 nominations. Moreover, as of June 2020, the video is one of 52 videos with over 2 billion views on YouTube. It is the 26th most-viewed YT video of all time with over 2.6 billion views and has the fifth most views for a female artist after Swift’s “Shake It Off”, Katy Perry’s “Roar” and “Dark Horse”, and Adele’s “Hello” and therefore, it deserves a notable spot in my list of must hear songs of time. Also, the video won 2 MTV video music awards on 30 August 2015.

Bohemian Rhapsody – Queen

Some things just get better with age. “Bohemian Rhapsody” is one of those things. We’re certainly not going to argue about this one.

It might sound crazy now, but Bohemian Rhapsody was considered somewhat of a gamble upon its release in 1975. Queen states that it’s about a young man who has accidentally killed someone and, like Faust, sold his soul to the devil.

This song’s a mishmash of themes and styles that effortlessly blend to tell the story of a group of misfits and it still resonates with music fans from all over the world. Today, you’ll be hard-pressed not to find someone who doesn’t know the lyrics to the anthem! We continue to love it all the same.

Take Me Home, Country Roads – John Denver

Don’t call yourself a true music lover if you haven’t heard the next song on my must hear songs of all time list.
Take Me Home, Country Roads was written by Bill Danoff, Taffy Nivert, and John Denver, and was released as a single, performed by Denver on 12 April 1971. The song was a milestone hit, maintaining its spot on billboard top 100, and it’s easy to see why.

The theme or message from this song is that there is nothing like home. So as long as there are road trips, we will continue to bump into this classic track for the longest we live. It’s not a road trip until someone plays this track.

Boulevard of Broken Dreams – Green Day

This song was released by the American rock band Green Day on ‎29 November 2004. It’s a track from their seventh studio album American idiot.

Boulevard of Broken Dreams isn’t just a catchy, well-written piece of music; it is one of the defining pop-punks of the 2000s. It conveys a sole sense of peacefulness, which comes from choosing solitude over conforming. This song, from my point of view, should definitely be in the list of must hear songs of all time.

So, want to introspect? A cup of coffee, an excellent book, a good headphone, and this song, from my list of must hear songs of all time, is what might help.

Just Like Heaven – The Cure

Is there a more iconic song than “Just Like Heaven”? This track was the third release from The Cure’s 1987 album Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me. The lyrics were written by their frontman Robert Smith, who drew inspiration from a past trip to the seashore with his fiancée. It became the band’s first American hit and dominated the Billboard Charts a year after its release. Its band’s one of the greatest hits and has been one of the most romantic songs to date.

This song, when released, stole the hearts of its audience, and even now, more than three decades after its release, continues to connect with music lovers, and therefore, it occupies a significant spot in the list of must hear songs of all time.

Hello – Adele

Hello is a post-breakup track by Adele, which was released on 23 October 2015 by XL. It’s about going back over the past and seeking closure. Instead of taking the stereotypical breakup song route and singing about how terrible the other person was, which most of the songwriters do nowadays, Adele sings about finding closure and talking over what happened so many years ago.

And with that level of depth and maturity, it gained enormous popularity among people and become one of the must hear songs of all time. It became admirable to such an extent that it was streamed 7.32 million times just in the first week of its release, breaking the streaming record previously held by Justin Bieber‘s “What Do You Mean?”!

So, if you’ve had a terrible breakup recently, then this one’s absolutely gonna help. I’m sure this is going to be on your playlist for a pretty long time.

Youngblood – 5 Seconds of Summer

Few songs capture our soul, and “Youngblood” is one of them. From its opening few beats through to its chorus, the tune manages to connect with everyone. The melody remains lingering in the listeners long after it’s ended. The track was released by the Australian pop-rock band 5 Seconds of Summer. It’s the story of the ups and downs, pushes, and pulls off a relationship.
