Pros and cons of being single

Pros and cons of being single 1

We live in a society where people feel that you must have a partner with whom you can live happily ever after. We watch romantic movies, read romantic novels or look at all the lovely couples having a great time together and then think that we can only have fun if we have a loving partner with us. I do agree that with a loving partner your life is a bliss but being single is also not a punishment. You can be happy even if you are single. Now that we have established that being single does sound awesome it may have some negatives as well. Here are some of the pros and cons of being single:

The Pros of being single:

You are free to do whatever you want, whenever you want, and with whoever you want. Being in a relationship you have to live your partner’s life more than your own. You have to take all your decisions after thinking or taking their permission.

On contrary, when you are single, you can enjoy road trip, with your friends, you don’t have to ask anyone before wearing or doing anything. You don’t have to feel constrained by a relationship and that you cannot do what you want to do at times.

Time for yourself:

time for yourself

You hardly give time to your family, friends because your partner loves to spend quality time just with you. If you are single, you are lucky because you won’t waste your time in fighting, searching for gifts, trying to live life according to your partner, etc. You can use your free time in planning about your job, life, reviving your relations with family and friends. You can also enhance your creativity, join hobby classes or just give treat to yourself for nothing.

No emotional dramas:

no emo dramas

When you are in a relationship, you always want to keep it intact. To achieve that you have to take care of your partner’s emotions and have to ignore your wishes. In fact, many lovers spent restless nights if something goes wrong in their relations.

When you’re not in a relationship, then enjoy your life to fullest. If you are one of those who believe in living life according to you, either find the most understand partner or live single and live life like a king.

More money in your pocket:

more money

Being in a relationship is expensive. Candle light dinners, movies, mini-vacations and Valentine gifts all add up to a significant amount of cash. Save this money towards something that betters you in the long run.

The Cons of being single

Having to do everything yourself:

single can be torture

Having to do everything for yourself can get really really annoying. You are tired, hungover and a fry won’t make itself. It’s hard not having someone there to ask really nicely to do it for you.

You miss having a romantic connection with someone:

lack of intimacy

It’s hard being not in a relationship when you have needs and enjoy being in a relationship. If you’re a person that loves being in a relationship and feel as if you need and enjoy life more while in a relationship then the single life can be torture.

Have the feeling of being left out:

oh no wait i have no one

Feeling left out can be a big issue. Growing to a certain age in your life and seeing all your friends in relationships and getting married can be really, really tough.

Going through both the pros and cons of being single, it is your choice whether or not you want to live the single life or get into a relationship.

Would you rather be single in your life right now or in a relationship?
