Dry skin texture ends up looking dull and cracked as it requires moisturization when the surrounding weather is cold or dry. Whereas oily skin suffer the most during puberty as it traps dirt due to oil content and leads to the formation of whiteheads, pimples and blackheads which is majorly caused due to genetics, overuse use of skin care products, seasonal changes, medications, stress and sun tanning.
Here are 5 easy and effective home remedies for oily skin:
- Aloe Vera
It is helpful for oily skin as it absorbs excessive oil present on the surface of the skin. Aloe Vera is easy to use, just cut the sides of the Aloe Vera so that the thorns will be eliminated. And cut a slit in the middle and get the fresh gel out of it, apply gel on the face for 2-3 times a day and leave it for about 15 minutes and then wash off with cold water. Doing this often will reduce oil content present on top of the skin.
- Banana and honey mask
Banana and honey combination is a wonderful remedy for oily skin. It is simple yet effective. Banana makes the skin smooth and soft while honey will reduce excessive oil and prevent wrinkles. Just blend a banana and 1 tbsp. of honey and apply in on the face, allow it to stay for 25 minutes, and then wash off with cold water. Pat dry and apply some moisturizer as the skin becomes oil free after applying mask.
It is an excellent remedy for the sensitive oily skin. It is a good cleansing agent and smoothing product. A simple way to use milk is just take 3 tbsp. of milk and mix it with 2-3 drops of lavender oil. Dip the cotton balls in the mixture and gently apply it on the skin and massage the skin for about 5 minutes which will also increase blood circulation. Allow milk to stay as much time as possible and wash off with cold water. It is much effective if it’s done overnight.
- Apple cider vinegar It is good in exfoliation the skin. It is also a bedtime process. Just mix ½ cup of water into 2-3 tbsp. of apple cider vinegar and apply it on the skin before going to bed. Allow it to stay overnight and wash off with cold water. Recommended at least 3 times a week for best results.
- Lemon juice
Lemon juice has citric acid which acts as an astringent for face and as an antiseptic which can also lighten the skin. It is also helpful in removing tan. Mix 1 tbsp. of lemon juice with ½ tbsp. of water and apply it on the face with the help of cotton balls. Allow it to stay for about 10 minutes (maximum) and wash off with warm water. Pat dry and apply moisturizer. Do not expose skin to the sun when lemon juice is on the skin.
